As part of ViTrox culture to contribute back to society, we set 13 October as the date of an annual corporate event for charity. Through 1013 Charity Event, we encourage ViTroxians to volunteer by organising and participating in various activities to support charitable fundraising.
In 2022, we successfully organised this annual event on 10 - 13 October 2022 by having eight (8) charity booth sales and three (3) charity programmes, a collective effort from five (5) business units and eight (8) special interest clubs. This event raised total funds amounting to RM52,508 donated to Buddhist Tzu Chi Merits Society Malaysia (RM50,000) and St. Nicholas’ Home Penang (RM2,508).
Aside from benefitting the vulnerable community, we believe that volunteering may help ViTroxians cultivate a sense of empathy and a deeper understanding of the needs of others.
“Many of the volunteering programmes at ViTrox align with my personal beliefs, as they hold a deeper meaning beyond just an activity,” said People Culture Engineer Aman Nazarri. “As a ViTroxian, I feel a desire to “repay” the kindness that ViTrox has shown me during my time here.”
The active involvement of ViTroxians in these activities has shown that at ViTrox, philanthropy is more than just giving back to the community. “Most importantly, volunteering has given me a sense of purpose and belonging. By helping others, I feel needed and valued, which is a powerful antidote to feelings of emptiness and worthlessness,” said Nazarri.
