At ViTrox, we believe that building strong, collaborative relationships with our key suppliers goes beyond simple transactions. Below are several initiatives we have taken to foster a shared environment of knowledge exchange and sustainability, creating a win-win situation for both our Company and our valued partners.
In 2023, we invited key suppliers to conduct targeted seminars for our R&D and manufacturing engineers. Held on ViTrox Campus 2.0, these sessions minimised travel and environmental impact while maximising knowledge exchange. Suppliers shared the knowledge of machine parts and their specifications as well as the practical application of the parts, which empowers our engineers to make smart decisions on material selection and optimise specifications, ultimately refining their engineering expertise.
We believe in engaging with suppliers on a deeper level, beyond contracts and logistics. Therefore, we hosted our valued suppliers for campus tours, which provided a prime opportunity to engage with suppliers directly on our core values and strengthen supplier engagement. As they experience our green infrastructure and plant-based meals firsthand, open communication flourishes, solidifying supplier engagement and aligning our shared ESG goals. This fosters trust and cooperation, building bridges for responsible environmental practices.
To further strengthen ties and learn from each other, our MVS-S business unit organised targeted visits to key suppliers, like our trip to Penang Automation Cluster Sdn. Bhd. (“PAC”) in 2023. This trip provided our ViTroxians with invaluable insights into the inner workings of parts manufacturing and assembly. Witnessing this firsthand allowed our engineers to refine their drawing accuracy, ultimately reducing rework time and streamlining processes. By understanding one another's operations, we can find synergistic solutions with our suppliers that benefit both sides.
Besides, we regularly conduct informal site visits to understand suppliers' environmental policies and waste management strategies. Occasionally, our Procurement team joins the Quality Assurance team during annual supplier assessments to strengthen quality control processes and provide valuable learning opportunities for both teams. By combining expertise and perspectives, we achieve higher quality standards throughout the supply chain and work together towards responsible environmental practices.
