Recognising our responsibility to exert our social influence and give back to the community in the locations of our business operations, ViTrox is determined to positively influence the community through our corporate conscience programmes. This commitment extends beyond simply writing donation cheques. We believe in a multifaceted approach that incorporates charitable donations, fundraising events and corporate social responsibility (“CSR”) programmes.
Donation in Aid of “2023 Turkey Earthquake”
ViTrox initiated a fundraising campaign to support aid and relief efforts for victims of the 2023 Turkey earthquake. Through donations from employees, the Company raised RM20,000 to contribute to international disaster relief initiatives. The funds were distributed among 6 NGOs that are providing crucial assistance on the ground in Turkey.
Hair Donation
ViTrox has been actively engaged in a Hair Donation Programme in partnership with Locks of Hope since 2018 to extend care and compassion for those experiencing medical hair loss. The donated hair will be turned into wigs for cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. A total of 67 sets of hair have been collected from our people and their family and friends.
Gardening Activity and Fund Raising at SJK(C) Chong Cheng
A total of 9 volunteers from our MVS-S team dedicated 27 total hours to gardening at SJK(C) Chong Cheng school. This community service activity cultivated a vibrant, green space while furthering ViTroxians’ personal and professional growth. Volunteers engaged in various gardening tasks, including flower pot and garden pathway moss cleaning, repotting plants, moss removal and wilted plant removal, to transform the school’s outdoor area. The team also fundraised to purchase gardening tools and materials. This initiative demonstrates ViTroxians’ commendable community spirit and environmental stewardship.
“Bake for a Cause” Charity Event
In a heartwarming endeavour, 34 volunteers from our ECS team organised a charity sales event in early July 2023, raising a total of RM1,236 by selling delightful treats such as Guiling Jelly, Choco Top Fruits and Fruit Crepes. Subsequently, the fund raised was contributed to Rumah Sejahtera Permatang Tinggi, drawing over 26 volunteers from the team to also do gotong-royong and performance to residents at the old folks home. This meaningful event served not only as a volunteering initiative but also as a team-building experience for ECS.
