15th November 2021 - ViTrox Recorded The Highest Serving Number of Vegetarian Company Meals in Malaysia Book of Record

PENANG, MALAYSIA - NOVEMBER 2021 ViTrox, the World’s Most Trusted Machine Vision Solutions for the semiconductor and electronics packaging industries, has prepared and served a total of 78,675 free vegetarian meals for its employees (also known as ViTroxians) in 2019, and was awarded by the Malaysian Book of Records with the certificate of "providing the most number of free vegetarian meals in one year." The certificate and presentation ceremony took place on 13 November 2021 at ViTrox Campus 2.0 in Batu Kawan, Penang.

Mr. Chu Jenn Weng, President and CEO of ViTrox, said “This significant milestone allowed ViTrox to reduce about 110,676,462 litres of water, 481,098kg of grain, 241,878kg of carbon dioxide, 74,424sqm of the forest and save 26,580 animal lives. ViTrox will continue to serve more free vegetarian meals this year. As of the third quarter of 2021, ViTrox has provided over 77,000 free vegetarian meals in the year.” With its commitment to environmental, social and governance best practices, along with its green concept, ViTrox hopes to reduce damage to the earth.

“We believe that vegetarianism is an ideal way to reduce global warming while taking care of everyone's health," Mr. Chu emphasized.

The honourable Yang Berhormat Prof. Dr. P.Ramasamy A/L Palanisamy, Penang Deputy Chief Minister II was also invited to witness the Malaysia Book of Record certificate and presentation ceremony.

In conjunction with the certificate witness and presentation ceremony, ViTrox also conducted the "One Person, One Good Deed free vegetarian meal" donation activity in which the company handed over 500 healthy vegetarian meals to the representative of Kelab Sukan Elektronik Mutiara Pulau Pinang the non-profit organization. The donation was later distributed by the organization to the B40 community in Perai Province.

ViTrox adopts the cultivation of volunteerism and altruistic moral beliefs as its unique culture. ViTroxians volunteer their own free time with the aim to bring harmony, positive impact and well-being to the communities. Besides, ViTrox endeavours to take proactive initiatives to support and collaborate with the government, local agencies and NGOs to promote the advancement of the community.

To prepare for the 500 sets of healthy vegetarian meal donations, ViTrox gathered a total of 30 volunteers among ViTroxians. ViTrox’s internal chefs cooked the food with the support of ViTroxian volunteers in cutting, cooking, packing, recording, and organizing the event. Meanwhile, all expenses were collected from ViTroxians through the charity event - “One Person, One Good Deed (Chinese: 1013 一人一善)” occurred in (October) 2021.
