OCR technology is mainly used to perform precise character verification during the mark learning process in the ViTrox vision system, in order to prevent mixed devices. Beyond that, our VR20i Series is highly flexible to meet users’ requirements while supporting the backend semiconductor.

Optical Character Recognition (OCR) prevents mixed devices in production by converting the image captured into digital text that will be compared with the user’s internal database. This verification is further enhanced on top of mark inspection, to prevent the mistake caused by the operator.
The VR20i series also enables the re-mapping of every single device with its unique marking for traceability purposes. The device marking decoded by the OCR will be kept as basic information in the report system according to the lot for the next processes or future reference.
