PENANG MALAYSIA - FEBRUARY 2022 ViTrox Academy, a wholly-owned educational subsidiary of ViTrox Corporation Berhad, the world trusted automated machine vision inspection solutions provider, is pleased to announce the launching of the V-Makerspace on 14th of February 2022. V-Makerspace will be the first makerspace in Seberang Perai, Penang to serve the innovative local community.
V-Makerspace was made possible with RM1 million investment from ViTrox Corporation Berhad, and a collaboration with Penang Science Cluster (PSC). The makerspace highlights ViTrox’s vision for the future, to be an ideal platform where creativity and innovation are encouraged and supported by technology, also as a stretch of PSC to extend their mission to spark interest in Science and Technology among youths in Seberang Perai.
This makerspace is equipped with high-end equipment such as 3D printers, laser cutting and engraving machines, thermoplastic formbox, oscilloscopes and so on. The makers would be able to perform soldering, wiring, 3D-printing, laser cutting and engraving, small to medium scale robot development with the ready equipment, at a minimum cost.
ViTrox Academy will also organize activities like master class, makers competition, hackathon, to gather the technology enthusiasts in the region for networking and collaborations, and also for makers to showcase their ideas or builds to potential customers. At V-Makerspace, makers can truly test and kickstart their inventions and ideas, bridging the gap between the hobbyist and full commercialisation.
